Mohan Balaji, 2 July 2009, International Reporter India has refused to accept the draft agreement of the Major Economies Forum (MEF) - that is attempting to put pressure on developed countries to take on emission cuts ahead of the G-8 summit to be held on July 8-10 in Italy. The draft text of the MEF envisages emission cuts of 50 percent by 2050 across the world, with developed countries cutting emissions by at least 80 percent by 2050. The document also enforces the developed countries to "robust aggregate and individual mid-term reductions in the 2020 timeframe". Full article here.
