Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar feels global warming should be blamed for the spiralling prices in the country.
He said global warming has affected crops like paddy and sugarcane which is also a reason for the increasing price rise.
"Rice production has been affected. It (global warming) has affected sugarcane and other vegetable crops. We are observing that prices in all these areas have gone to the sky.
"And it is not a problem in India unfortunately because of the impact of global warming in agriculture, this trend we are observing elsewhere also. The prices of all these items in the international market has also gone to the sky," he said, addressing the national convention of NCP.
